Minnesota parcels forfeit to the state after the redemption period expires, and county auditors then sell tax-forfeited land at public auction or over the counter. No liens are sold to investors.
Each county auditor posts a list of tax-forfeited parcels with appraised values that serve as minimum bids, holds a public auction, and offers unsold parcels over the counter at the appraised price afterward. Sales may be in person or online depending on the county, and buyers typically pay a deposit plus recording fees and can sometimes finance through a contract with the county. The state issues the deed after full payment. Verify wetlands, easements and whether the parcel is classified as non-conservation, which affects saleability.

Minnesota is a tax deed state. Delinquent parcels forfeit to the state and counties sell them; there are no lien certificate sales.
Commonly three years after the tax judgment before forfeiture, with shorter periods for some property types. Once forfeited and sold, no redemption applies.
