How these sales work
Louisiana parish tax collectors sell tax sale certificates on delinquent property, conveying a redeemable interest, and property with no bidders is adjudicated to the parish and later resold. Investors bid down the ownership percentage, not the price.
A home a federal agency or government-sponsored enterprise took back after a foreclosure on a loan it insured or owned, now resold through its own program.
Compare government real-estate sale types →An agency is disposing of land it no longer needs: excess right-of-way, school or state trust parcels, or surplus sites offered by sealed bid or auction.
How to buy government surplus land and lots →General information, not legal advice; the official sale notice controls.
