How these sales work

Buying government property in Boundary County

Idaho is a tax deed state

Idaho counties take a tax deed to property after three years of delinquency and then sell it at a public auction held by the county commissioners. There are no tax lien certificates.

Redemption period: The owner can redeem up until the county takes the tax deed; once the county owns the parcel and resells it, the buyer's title is not subject to redemption.
Interest or penalty: Not applicable — buyers purchase tax-deeded property from the county rather than a lien earning interest.
