Buying government property in Gwinnett County

Georgia is a redeemable deed state

Georgia county tax commissioners sell delinquent property on the courthouse steps, conveying a tax deed that the owner can redeem by paying a premium within a set period.

Redemption period: The owner has 12 months from the sale to redeem, and the buyer must then serve a barment notice to cut off the right; without barment, the redemption right can continue.
Interest or penalty: A redeeming owner pays the purchase price plus a 20% premium in the first year, with an additional 10% for each year after.
